Pakistan invites Swiss companies to invest in renewable energy and IT sector

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar thanked Swiss companies operating in Pakistan while calling on more Swiss companies to invest in the country, especially in the renewable energy and IT sectors.
During his meeting with Swiss Ambassador Georg Steiner, Dar highlighted Pakistan’s strong ties with Switzerland and highlighted the potential to expand cooperation in various areas such as trade, investment, climate, tourism and migration.
Dar also mentioned the Memorandum of Understanding on Disaster Management signed between the two countries, expressing hope that it would strengthen cooperation and enable the use of technology and expertise in the fight against natural disasters.
The meeting included a discussion on regional dynamics and multilateral issues. Dar praised Switzerland’s role in the multilateral arena and its contribution to humanitarian and peacebuilding efforts.
Pakistan and Switzerland maintain close relations and interact regularly. In July last year, the Swiss Foreign Minister visited Pakistan, and in January this year. Bilateral Political Consultations were held.
