The insurer announces the nominations of three seniors

Corporate healthcare risk management and trust services provider Healix has announced new senior hires as it continues to expand its team and product offering.

The three new additions bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise, covering distinct areas of Bristol’s business.

David Battle joins Healix as a Non-Executive Director after a career spanning start-ups to multinational corporations, including the private sector, VC and PE-backed organizations, Providents and PLCs.

With his experience working for major insurers in the medical expenses market, David brings a unique perspective and marketing expertise that will help shape Healix’s strategic vision for the future.

David led Lorica through an aggressive growth phase to a successful commercial sale to Aon and then became CEO of Aon Employee Benefits for nine years before retiring from Aon at the end of 2023. In 2023, David was recognized by Health & Protection Magazine for his outstanding contributions to the industry.

David said about his new role at Healix; “I am very excited to be joining Healix at this time. I have always had great respect for Healix and the people who work there. It is a company large enough to have significant clout in the healthcare and risk management market, but still has the culture and flexibility to provide a tailored and personalized approach to the needs of intermediaries and customers.

David is joined by Steven Whitehouse in the newly created role of Group Chief Technology Officer. Steven has a career working in start-ups, SMEs and multinational corporations including IBM and Ford. Thanks to his experience, he planned and implemented large-scale technology solutions and infrastructure, including contactless payments for the London Oyster Card Network for Cubic Transportation Systems.

Rounding out the new hires is Richard Jones, who will join Healix as chief data and pricing officer, leaving his position as pricing director at Barclays.

Richard brings with him a wealth of experience, having held senior pricing roles at AXA and Direct Line Group before moving to Barclays in 2013.

Richard will focus on working with the senior team to shape and implement pricing strategy going forward, enabling Healix to continue on its growth path.
