With Verizon’s Google Pixel 8a deal, you’ll get this brand-new device for free, with no trade-in required

The Google Pixel 8a just launched, and Verizon is offering one of the best deals we’ve seen for a new mid-range flagship. Right now you don’t even have to trade in to get it free from the carrier.

Both new and existing customers can open a new line on an unlimited data plan to get the $500 device for free. At the time of writing, upgrades are not available, so only 36-month plan enrollment is available for this particular offer.

In addition to the free device, you can also throw in a free Google Pixel Watch 2 and a Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablet – two great devices that are worth over $800 on their own. There’s a catch, though, because you have to pay for cell lines for each device you want (usually about $5-15 extra per month).

The latest Google Pixel 8a, like previous entries in the Google “A” series, offers a decent set of specifications and AI-powered features that the brand’s devices are famous for. In addition to the powerful Tensor G3 chipset (the same as the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro), you’ll also get a better battery, a 120Hz display, and seven years of guaranteed software updates, which should easily last through the 36-month contract period. Our full review of the device will be coming soon, but in the meantime you can head over to our Google Pixel 8a main page where you’ll find everything you need to know about the device.
