Amazon will launch an Irish online store in 2025

Amazon, which already has a physical presence in Ireland through a fulfillment center in Dublin opening in 2022, will now be available online on the Emerald Isle on a country-by-country basis. The e-commerce giant will launch Amazon.ie next year, offering localized shopping options and promising a selection of over 100 million products – including even more from Irish businesses – as well as faster deliveries and returns. Previously, Irish Amazon customers could shop on the site through online stores in other countries such as the UK.

“The launch of Amazon.ie will be great news for Irish customers and we look forward to opening its virtual doors in 2025,” John Boumphrey, Amazon.ie country manager for Ireland and the UK, said in a statement. “This underlines our ongoing commitment to Ireland and will provide Irish customers with a wide range of high-value products with fast delivery, as well as providing great opportunities for Irish small and medium-sized businesses to reach a wider audience at home and abroad.”

More than 1000 Irish small and medium-sized businesses are already selling on Amazon, generating over 150 million euros in export sales only in 2022. The new online store will also be supported by the platform Five years delivery contract between Amazon and An Post concluded in November 2023.
