Google’s Find My Device network is opening up to more people and devices

What you need to know

  • Google appears to be expanding the reach of its new Find My Device network to more users in the US and beyond
  • X (formerly Twitter) users in Japan and the UK have started receiving support, while US users are receiving it on more devices.
  • Offline detection over the new network when your phone’s battery runs out is only available on the Pixel 8 series, and Google recently clarified how it works.

It looks like Google’s new Find My Device feature is starting to become available to people outside the United States and Canada.

As Mishaal Rahman (Android Authority) noted, several users visited X (formerly Twitter) and reported that they had accessed Google’s new network for lost devices. A Japanese user posted a screenshot of his Android launching Find My Device, while another user from the UK posted similar examples.
