Samsung announces Galaxy Unpacked date to showcase ‘flexible mobile devices’, smartwatches and more

Samsung has announced the date of its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, where it will showcase a new range of flagship phones, including upcoming foldable models.

The event will take place on August 11 and will aim to “uncover the next chapter in mobile innovation,” Samsung says.

“Now more than ever, there is a need for flexible, versatile mobile devices that can keep up with the fast pace of our lives so that we can make the most of and enjoy every moment.”

Both of Samsung’s upcoming foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3, have already been leaked.

Notorious leaker Evan Blass revealed new foldable phones, as well as a Galaxy FE device, two Galaxy Watches, and a new set of Galaxy Buds. Mr. Blass was also correct in stating the date of the event.

The event will be held virtually on its website.

Samsung has already moved far enough for buyers to reserve another device – even though the device hasn’t been officially unveiled yet.

Little has been confirmed about Samsung’s new foldable smartphones, but it seems likely that the new gadget will be compatible with the Samsung S Pen stylus, allowing users to type on both the large internal screen and the smaller external screen.

The South Korean smartphone giant is facing increasingly fierce competition in the foldable device market. Huawei Mate X2, Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold and Microsoft Surface Duo have a larger internal screen. Samsung seems stronger in the clamshell area, however, as Motorola’s Razr is the only serious rival and has been met with mixed reviews.

Samsung’s upcoming smartwatches, in addition to smartphones, could be the first to feature an operating system announced jointly with Google at February’s Mobile World Congress – a “new, unified platform” that provides better integration between Android and Wear devices (the name of Google’s wearable product). calf). operating system) of the device.

This includes app syncing between your Android device and the watch, so downloading an app on your phone will download the appropriate version of the app to your watch, new features and integrations with existing apps, and an improved watch face tool.
