Version 1 delivers new top-level appointments as part of continued growth

Louise Lahiff takes over as chief operating officer and Patrick Cooney, formerly of Kerry Group, joins the company as chief financial officer.

Irish IT and digital transformation solutions provider, Version 1, has made several important appointments to its board of directors to ensure the continued financial and operational development of the company.

In an announcement yesterday (May 9), the Dublin-headquartered company said Louise Lahiff will take up the role of chief operating officer and Patrick Cooney will join the company as chief financial officer.

Lahiff, who has been with Version 1 for 10 years, will oversee deliveries across Ireland, the UK, India and the US. Previously, she held leadership positions including director of strategy, people and planning, where she oversaw rapid international expansion. Notably, Lahiff was also the first woman to join the Version 1 software unit’s board in 2022.

“This is a very exciting time for Version 1 and I am extremely pleased and grateful to continue my journey as the new COO,” she said.

“We have ambitious plans for our growth and development and I look forward to working with my teams to continually evolve our value proposition for our customers, setting a high bar for transformation that in turn benefits their own customers and users.”

Meanwhile, Cooney joins Version 1 from Kerry Group, where he was European CFO for nine years – overseeing the organization through several significant challenges, including Brexit and Covid-19.

Release 1 says Cooney, who will take over from former CFO Andrew Langford, will now lead the company’s financial growth strategy as the company rapidly grows through acquisitions and expansion into new markets.

“It was very important to me to join an organization that had values that aligned with mine,” Cooney said. “Each of the core values of Version 1 resonate with me, and I am confident that I can thrive and be happy in this environment while delivering what the company needs. It has an impressive track record of growth to date and ambitious plans for the future. I’m really excited to contribute to this.”

In 2022, Version 1 announced plans to open a new technology center in Newcastle upon Tyne. Last year it announced plans for a new technology center in Birmingham city centre.
