In a significant step towards strengthening India’s renewable energy sector, Grew Energy Pvt Ltd, the flagship venture of the Chiripal Group, has announced its ambitious project to set up a state-of-the-art solar energy manufacturing facility in Jammu and Kashmir. With a staggering investment commitment of Rs 4,500 Cr, the facility is expected to contribute significantly to achieving the national renewable energy targets while supporting socio-economic development in the region.


Grew Energy Pvt Ltd, a pioneering name in the Indian renewable energy market, is set to revolutionize solar power generation with its upcoming three-stage, fully integrated facility in Jammu and Kashmir. Marking a historic milestone as the first Indian renewable energy player to set up a manufacturing unit in the region, Grew’s venture promises to bring cutting-edge technology and world-class infrastructure to Kathua.


The groundbreaking ceremony held at the proposed site was attended by esteemed dignitaries including Mr. Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director, Grew Energy, along with Shri Hardip Singh, Chief Operating Officer and distinguished members of the Chiripal Group.


Spanning an area of ​​80 acres, the high-tech facility will have an annual production capacity of 3.2 GW for high-performance modules and 2.8 GW for ingots, wafers and cells, while meeting international standards and equipped with advanced automated machinery.

Mr. Vinay Thadani expressed gratitude for the government’s support and highlighted the transformative impact of the new factory on the socio-economic fabric of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the facility’s role in enhancing employment opportunities and contributing to achieving India’s ambitious net zero target.

With this strategic expansion, Grew Energy aims to meet the growing demand for solar energy not only in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh but also in neighboring states and the entire country. In addition, the company plans to strengthen the position of local communities and support the development of skills among young people.

By FY25, Grew Energy aims to achieve a total production capacity of 6 GW for modules and 2.8 GW for solar components, positioning itself as a key player in the Indian renewable energy sector. By focusing on high-end DCR modules, the company aims to support India’s quest for energy independence while contributing to global sustainability goals.
