Ebay improves access to product data, thanks to which sellers post offers faster and better

Ebay has made it even easier for sellers to access data insights three years previous sales on the platform when creating offers using the product research tool, now available in the Ebay mobile app for iOS and Android. Previously called Terapeak, this tool was only available on desktop devices before the release of this extension.

Sellers can now easily access insights into:

  • Item actual selling priceincluding the accepted price for Best Offer auctions;
  • Things’ average selling price and price range sold;
  • The number of sellers who sold a specific product; AND
  • The percentage of auctions for a given item that have occurred sold with free shipping and average shipping.

Users can search, sort, filter and browse product research data in a variety of ways. Is also “Sell as is” feature. this will start a new auction with information pre-populated based on the auction sold, which can then be modified to best describe the item. Additionally, the company promised future updates to the tool that will include information such as sales ratiomore trend charts and possibility browse active offers.

These kinds of insights are already common among other retailers Amazon AND Walmartbut for peer-to-peer platforms like Ebay, they are especially helpful because listing unique, second-hand items can often be a tedious task and a barrier for individual sellers.
